Following our acquisition of Parthian Wandsworth in July, we’re so excited to announce that we’re adding the Reading and Southampton sites to the family as well!
For Wandsworth, this means we can focus on finalising the transition over the coming weeks, turning it into our London flagship site and uniting the SW London climbing community under one seriously impressive roof.
We’re working on getting more updates to you about the site and what this means for OG and will share them as soon as things are confirmed. For now, your Parthian membership and access continue exactly as before, and the team you know is still here to support you. We know you’ll have questions, and we’re here to answer them. The breakdown
We plan to transition to the Southside location slowly. There will be an overlap where both our OG and the new centre will be open at the same time, which means this is the summer of even more climbing, access to ropes and BBQs in the sun. We will keep regular updates on the transition on the socials.
We’re incredibly thankful for the memories, friendships, and energy that our founding site has brought to all of us over the years. We know this news may be bittersweet for many. Wandsworth OG has been more than just a gym; it’s been a place where friendships were formed, projects were sent, and our community took root.
To celebrate this chapter, we’ll be hosting special closing events where everyone can come together and give our original Wandsworth site the send off it deserves.
What about my membership or bundle you ask? We’re working hard to make this transition as smooth as possible.
- No action needed for current Font members, as your membership will continue as normal and enable access to our new centre down the road from Thursday 31st July!
- Parthian memberships will not carry over automatically, but re-signing with us will be quick and easy — and comes with shiny new benefits across all our London sites.
Packs will carry over after a short transition (around 3 weeks), and all other access/bookings stay active as normal.

key points to know
Why is the gym moving?
- We’re growing! This is an exciting opportunity to bring our amazing community into a larger, more versatile space just 10 minutes’ walk from our current site. The new gym includes rope climbing, more room to train, and better facilities.
What happens to my membership?
- Our new home will be at HERE, a short walk from the current gym. We’ll have clear directions and signage to guide you there.
When is the move happening?
- We plan to transition to the Southside location slowly, closing after Summer 2025 (exact date to be confirmed). There will be an overlap where both our OG and the new Font 2.0 centre will be open at the same time, which means this is the summer of even more climbing, access to ropes and BBQs in the sun!
Memberships and packs
- Current Parthian members will need to complete a quick and simple re-sign up process to continue your membership in our new system. All relevant links to sign up will be shared on Thursday. Here you will be able to select the membership that suits you and once you’ve rejoined, you’ll continue to enjoy all the climbing, classes, and community you love - and now with even more to explore.
- Your Font membership will include access to all three of our sites; our Wandsworth location which you’ll be familiar with, our Borough site (home to London’s only adjustable Tension Board 2), and The Font Hounslow. And our Wandsworth OG site will be open for the summer, so you’ll have four sites to enjoy!
- If you’ve purchased a pack or a bundle, these will carry over to the new system once the transition period is complete which will take around 3 weeks, and all other access and bookings will remain active as normal. You will be notified once the transition is complete and you are able to use the packs across all of our sites.
- NO ACTION NEEDED FOR CURRENT FONT MEMBERS, as your membership will continue as normal and enable access to all active sites.
Will the same staff be there?
- Yes! You’ll see the same friendly faces you know and love. Our whole team is moving with you.
What facilities will the new space have?
- We are bringing our rad bouldering and functional fitness area to the new site, plus top rope and lead climbing, giving you even more variety in your sessions.
- NEW FEATURES in development include:

- A state of the art fitness studio

Is the new site accessible?
- Yes, the new gym is wheelchair accessible, and we’re improving facilities across the board. Got specific access needs? Drop us a line - we’d love to chat.
What will happen to the current gym space?
- While we’re sad to say goodbye to the current space, we’re bringing its energy and spirit into the new gym. We won’t be closing the current gym straight away so you’ll have even more climbing to enjoy in the interim and we’ve got a few fun ways for you to say farewell planned - more details soon!

What if I don’t want to move?
- We totally understand - we are really sad to be letting go of our flagship site. But we are excited for all of the opportunities the new space brings us, in terms of facilities and community. With this move we are able to offer the same world-class bouldering facilities and functional fitness space, whilst also offering rope climbing facilities. Not to mention we have big plans to open more centres around London which means more epic climbing in one membership!

Is the gym closing or changing dramatically?
- Not at all!
- The gym you know and love will stay open and continue operating as usual – just with some extra support and upgrades from our team and access to more climbing around London!
Will my membership or prices change?
- We will be grandfathering the membership prices of current hang members that just want to climb and hang at the site they know and love. There will also be an option to upgrade to a multi-site membership for just £10 at £75/month, giving you access to all our locations: Hang, Wandsworth, and Borough, with more to come.
- You will be able to purchase the grandfathered rolling monthly price of £65 until the end of July. From 1st August, it will move to standard Font prices starting at £75/month for Bronze tier, £95/month for Silver and £115/month for Gold.
- Concession memberships are also remaining at £55/month for single-site access, while the multi-site rate will start from £60/month for our Bronze tier, £80/month for Silver and £100/month for Gold.
- Single entry concession prices will be £14.50, with student entry staying at £9.50. Students will now also have access to our annual memberships, starting from as little as £35/month. Click here for more info

What about packs and passes?
- All packs will be carried over onto our system and remaining passes will be able to be used across The Font's sites.
- Single passes that are already on your account will be carried over and available to use across all of our sites. Any new single entries will be at the The Font existing prices (£17.00 for a single entry, etc) - Please see our prices here for more information.
Will the staff stay?
- Yes, we’ll be keeping the same great team in place. We’re welcoming Hang into the Font family and merging our wonderful communities together.
What will The Font bring to the gym?
- We bring more climbing (across more sites), with some more upgrades in the works which will be communicated in the coming weeks. We’re excited to build on what already makes this place special.
What facilities does will The Font Hounslow have?
- The same as it did at Hang. Amazing boulders, a 2024 moon board and a kilter board! On top of that a great gym space, cafe, showers, lockers, and chilled out workspaces!
Is the new site accessible?
- Yes, the new gym is wheelchair accessible, and we’re improving facilities across the board. Got specific access needs? Drop us a line - we’d love to chat.

Southampton & Reading sites
What happens to my membership?
- Nothing! No changes will be happening initially as we beaver away in the background to complete the transition. We will be in touch soon though with more details. You can sign up to our mailing list here and follow us on socials to be first to know.
Will there be disruption to climbing/access to the centres?
- It’s business as usual! If anything changes you’ll be the first to know. Make sure you’re signed up to our mailing list here and following us on socials so you don’t miss a thing.
I’ve not been to The Font before, what can I expect?
- More world class climbing, fun and inclusive atmosphere, endless vibes, HUGE events (we just hosted our biggest event of the year, BRAWL on the Wall which you can watch here). Head over to our website for more information on us and give our socials a gander to see what we’re all about.
Will you be making any changes to the site?
- We’ll be sprinkling a little of the Font here and there in the form of logos, posters and signage but there’s no big changes planned to the climbing or structure of the site. You’ll be the first to know if anything happens!
