the climbing wall

The Font Borough has a great mix of wall angles from steep cave to slab, with no two walls sharing the same degrees! We have the latest and greatest holds from Contact, X-Cult and more, paired with interesting route setting and regular resets! We also feature a large 30 degree splatter board on the stokt app for those that love to create their own routes! And lets not forget our long traverse wall great for warming up, beginners, or those that just love the pump!

There are plenty of good routes set by the excellent route setters. The staff are friendly and always up for a chat. Highly recommended and I'll definitely be coming back.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is bouldering?

Bouldering is a form of indoor climbing that is performed on an artificial climbing wall without the use of ropes or a harness. This enables climbers to focus on form and technique. The climbing walls at The Font have a maximum height of 4.5 meters meaning they are considered safe to climb without equipment, although safety always remains a priority. We believe bouldering is the most accessible and sociable form of climbing.

Do I need to be fit and strong?

Climbing is a great way to improve your health whatever your fitness level. Colour coded routes cater for beginners through to advanced levels meaning you can start out on easier grades and level up when ready. Bouldering is as much about technique as it is about strength, meaning all body shapes and sizes can enjoy climbing and reap the benefits regardless of your strength or flexibility level.
